Hey Vikings! How have your first few weeks of school been so far?

Currently its 3rd week of school and Back to School Night is right around the corner. Back to School Night is something that almost every student has experienced before as it is a good way for your parents to be able to communicate with your teachers. During Back to School Night, you will be able to visit your classrooms from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

We interviewed assistant principal Mrs. Kristi Lee for her thoughts on Back To School Night. She gave some of her thoughts on Back To School Night and why it could be beneficial for you and your family.

Back to School Night this year will be having an ELAC Reclassification Celebration from 4:00-5:00 PM. 90 English learners have been reclassified from ELD classes and will be receiving recognition. From 5:00-5:30 PM they will be having a Title 1 Parent Meeting to go over school goals, data, etc. From 5:30-7:00 PM parents and guardians can visit classrooms.

This is an opportunity for families to meet teachers and other members of the staff who support Edison students. The staff members have had a good time planning Back to School Night and are excited to greet parents.

“I am excited for this year. We have implemented some new things such as having one lunch and Advisory which students seem to be enjoying,” said Mrs. Lee.
